Meet The Photographer
Arica Dorff - Owner/Photographer
"Our best friends will always have a place in our hearts, but what a gift for their smiles to always have a place on our wall for not just us, but for everyone to remember." - Arica Dorff
"Those great portraits are no longer just fun or cute, they are priceless and irreplaceable. They are works of art and no dollar amount could ever replace those beautiful faces on canvas." -Arica Dorff
My name is Arica Dorff and I am the proud
owner and photographer of Pet'ographique. At Pet'ographique we
specialize in capturing irreplaceable moments in your pet's life and sealing
those moments into priceless portraits that you can treasure long after your
pet leaves your side.
moved to Las Vegas 14 years ago from Mililani, Hawaii to play softball at
UNLV. I graduated from UNLV in
2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I currently live in Henderson with my husband, John, our Bloodhound, Gracie, and our studio mascot, Harley the Guinea Pig.
created in 2006 for the simple reason that it combines my 2 loves, animals and
photography. I love making pet
owners smile and cry everyday by capturing their pet’s personality on film. Animal
Rescue is a cause very close to my heart. We adopted our now passed Weimaraners, Duke & Drake, from the Las Vegas Weimaraner
Rescue which opened our eyes to the great service that so
many volunteers provide by rehabilitating and adopting out abandoned animals in
our community. We currently do our part by doing complimentary adoption portraits for rescues and shelters
around the valley to help the animals in their organizations find forever homes.
the first 5 years of business, Pet'ographique operated out of a 1,300
sq ft space. In 2011 we doubled our square footage and moved into our current 2,500 sq ft studio. In
addition to shooting Pet & Family Portrait Sessions, I travel around the
country speaking at photography conventions, teaching workshops and mentoring
individuals about the business and psychology of Pet Photography.
when people think of Pet Photography, they think “How fun!” or “How
cute!”. The thing I didn’t realize
when I entered this field was how many of my clients I would have to say
goodbye to and how often I would be reminded of the extremely short lives that
our 4 legged companions live. Those great portraits are no longer just fun or
cute, they are priceless and irreplaceable. They are works of art and no
dollar amount could ever replace those beautiful faces on canvas. In the 8 years that Pet'ographique has been open, I've had the honor of capturing
countless last portraits of pets, and usually the only professional portrait
they had in their lifetime. Our best friends will always have a place in
our hearts, but what a gift for their smiles to always have a place on our wall
for not just us, but for everyone to remember.
of you reading this could carry on an hour long conversation about your 4
legged "children" like human moms could talk all day about their
human babies. If this is you, then there is no reason why your
companion(s) should not grace the front of your holiday card with the rest of
the family and be included in the family portrait above your fireplace. I would
be honored to be the photographer to capture that irreplaceable moment in your
family's life and seal that moment into a priceless portrait for your family to
treasure for years to come. I look forward to working with you and, of
course, meeting your best friend!
