Meet The Staff

I moved to Las Vegas 12 years ago from Mililani, Hawaii and currently live in Henderson with my husband, John, and our two handsome Weimaraners, Duke & Drake.  In 2006, we adopted Drake from the Las Vegas Weimaraner Rescue, which has opened our eyes to the great service that so many volunteers provide by rehabilitating and adopting out abandoned animals in our community.  We currently do our part by providing complimentary portraits of animals from various rescues and shelters around the valley to help them find forever homes.   

Pet'ographique was created for the simple reason that it combines my 2 loves, animals and photography.  I have always enjoyed photographing babies, soon-to-be mommies and high school seniors, but I've been gifted with the talent of capturing pet's personalities on film and I love the reward I get from using that gift to make pet owners smile and cry everyday. 

The one thing I didn't realize when I entered this field was how important my work would become.  I used to think like most everyone else does when they see a great portrait of an animal, "what a fun job you have!" or "what a cute picture".  The thing I didn't realize was how many of my clients I would have to say goodbye to and how often I would be reminded of the extremely short lives that our 4 legged companions live.  Those great portraits are no longer just fun or cute, they are priceless and irreplaceable.  They are works of art and no dollar amount could ever replace those beautiful faces on canvas.  In the 5 years that Pet'ographique has been open, I've had the honor of capturing countless last portraits of pets, and usually the only professional portrait they had in their lifetime.  Our best friends will always have a place in our hearts, but what a gift for their smiles to always have a place on our wall for not just us, but for everyone to remember. 

Most of you reading this could carry on an hour long conversation about your 4 legged "children" like human moms could talk all day about their human babies.  If this is you, then there is no reason why your companion(s) should not grace the front of your holiday card with the rest of the family and be included in the family portrait above your fire place. I would be honored to be the photographer to capture that irreplaceable moment in your family's life and seal that moment into a priceless portrait for your family to treasure for years to come.  I look forward to working with you and, of course, meeting your best friend!
